Ehh, decent team but its not a team that really floats my boat. Whow as your 2nd round pick? Romo I'm guessing, that was a mistake. Drafting RB2 would've been a much wiser way to go. Kevin Smith better be the real deal. Apart from that you have only 1 RB worth mentioning that could get good PT (Morris) - Hightower is a longshot.

I think you can contend, barely... JMO

I picked 12th in front of Cranky in this draft (sorry again about snaking Crayton, hope he pans out as my WR3).

I've never done particularly well in fantasy football. Feel okay about this team. I was throwin' darts at the end.

Here's my team FWIW:

QB - Drew Brees (4)
WR - Reggie Wayne (2)
WR - Anquan Boldin (3)
WR - Patrick Crayton (7)
RB - Clinton Portis (1)
RB - Selvin Young (6)
TE - Tony Gonzalez (5)

K - Josh Brown (14)
DEF - Buffalo (15)

BN - Julius Jones (8)
BN - Ted Ginn Jr (9)
BN - Jerious Norwood (10)
BN - Vince Young (11)
BN - Drew Bennett (12)
BN - Ray Rice (13)

How the hell did Portis last till pick 12? Same as with Cranky, you are lacking RB2. In a 14 team league you simply have to go with 2 RBs in first 3 rounds. Love your WRs though. Alot here depends on Selvin Young and what he does this year - hopefully Pittman and hall dont take too many carries of him. At least you have Julius Jones, Jerious Norwood and Ray Rice. Cranky has Morris who is pretty much in the same boat as Julius Jones and that's it...

Hope I wasnt too harsh on both teams...

Exactly at 12 and 13 we were pretty well handcuffed.I wasn't wanting to be down to the clear bottom end on QB's either. You see that many fantasy points sitting in front of you and just like in a real draft, you take the best available player, regardless of position.

Doesn't work like that in FFB. Especially in a 14 team league. Brown/McGahee/Maroney/Jacobs need to be taken before a #1 WR.

MJD-Romo-Roy Williams-whoever you picked in the 4th.

Portis-Wayne-Boldin-Brees. Replace Wayne with Brown/McGahee and you have 2 solid backs and still have a star WR who you could back up with like Crayton/Galloway or one of the other 5 million servicable WR's. WR is the deepest position in football by about 3 miles (non-kicker). But this isn't as big a deal as... Romo with the 16th pick? What?

The fact is, you can't compete for a championship without 2 full time very good running backs. Kevin Smith better be Barry Sanders right out of the blocks... or you better save that high waiver for whoever this year's Earnest Graham is.

Note: I don't know how his team filled out but after those first 2 rounds Becksterg had the nicest haul with Adrian Peterson and Brandon Jacobs.

If S Jax wasnt holding out I would take him before Westbrook. 16 TDs and over 2300 combined yards from the line of scrimmage 2 years ago. No one had more total yards than Jackson, more than LT, Westbrook and Bush - PPR studs. Also only LT and LJ had more scores than Jackson 2 years ago...

Unfortunately Jackson is holding out so i dont know what that guy was thinking...

I don't necessarly agree. I drafted SJAX last year and he got hurt. I also drafted Cedric Benson - what a waste. And Cadillac - another waste. So, I traded for Marshawn Lynch last year who was solid, but not the beast he is supposed to be this year. Marshawn was fairly steady for me, but did get hurt at one point.

I spent most of the year plugging in at RB2 - picking up Jacobs when he came back from injury. Putting in Fred Jackson when Lynch got hurt (who did well). I even played DeShaun Foster, DeAngelo Williams (I drafted both of those guys), Maurice Hicks (who got me a TD one week) and Kenton Keith (I think). All of the following were on my team and some started, but I can't remember right now: Aaron Stecker, Samkon Gado, Anthony Thomas, Maurice Morris, Jerious Norwood, Patrick Cobbs, Ahman Green, Ron Dayne, and Chris Henry (ten team league; 14 man roster; 1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1 TE, 1 DST, no kickers).

Wow that was a pretty cool stroll down memory lane.

Anyway, my point is that I was able to ride Housh, Welker, and Witten to the championship game. Unfortunately I lost, but I believe in the best player available (in most cases).

Williams in Detroit's pass happy offense should be good for 85-90 receptions

Chambers in a full season for the Chargers again should be around 80-85 receptions.

Jones-Drew is in much less of a committee situation than any of the backs you said i should have taken instead of taking Romo? Are any of them huge threats for receptions?

I don't think so.He's good for 45-50 receptions so far he's averaged 43 in his first two years.I don't see any of Jacobs/Maroney etc... doing that.Did i trust McGahee would be ready for week one? Simply put no.Do i like their offense in Baltimore? Hell no.

I actually have every reason to believe as well that Sweed is going to impress as a rookie in Pittsburgh.Tomlin really likes him and he'll get his catches with Big Ben around.Same holds true in Dallas where Austin is getting solid reviews from his coaches and his QB.

Hightower as i said in another thread has solidified himself behind James, one of the few 30 year old backs who realizes in order to stay in the game his workload will need to decrease. He has already stated that he and Hightower will make a great one-two punch. So i don't think i'm reaching out of the realm here.I did my homework and maybe they aren't superstars, but all of them are being counted on by their teams this season to contribute.

No way in a 14 team league do you succeed without someone who was a reach( and every team has some) making a name for themselves.

As for Berksterg's team.Sorry but when you have drafted S Smith-2 game suspension and a recent concussion. Then he has Javon (i may not want to play anymore) Walker, and A Gonzalez, with an aging Amani Toomer as his WR's.Along with a RB corps consisting of AP( not noted for pass catching, though he did work on it) B Jacobs (committee) and the so often injured Deuce McAllister.Hmmm looks like my RB's can compete with that set.

Bottom line every team will have a weakness, yes poon and darko even yours will.Eventually you guys will start seeing what i have the last two years.RB's are not as important as they once were.We could have as many as 9 guys go over 4000 yards passing this season.

Brady
Favre
P Manning
D Anderson
T Romo
J Kitna
C Palmer
M Leinart
D Brees

M Bulger* if he stays healthy

Others too likely increase over their career stats.

B Rothlisberger-Has better weapons overall for the passing game.
D McNabb- huge increase over previous two seasons last year.
M Shaub- 3000 not of the realm

J Cutler-3497 last year

E Manning-for all his faults still went 3400 yards and has S Smith and K Boss now, could return to rookie like numbers at around 3800.

P Rivers- Chambers for a full season along with a vastly improved V Jackson and Gates i think more than 3150 is very possible there.

The days of RB's ruling the FFB world is changing i'm afraid.I seem to recall several mentioning in the threads that after the top 3 RB's you start to see big holes in the next tier of guys.Personally i still say Westbrook is primed to get hurt(relied upon too much), S-Jax may not play a down, and well AP as i said before isn't a noted reciever. That leaves LT and he's now 29.At 13th i sure was never going to see him.Hmmm guess i had to think outside the box.

Just because an extra point is given for receptions, doesn't mean you can ignore as well the D/ST.I'll be in very good shape there.
