Ron Artest was traded to the Rockets for Bobby Jackson, a No. 1 draft pick in 2009 and the draft rights to this year's 28th pick Donte Greene.

This could turn out being a great deal for the Rockets. If Artest decides to actually play, and plays like he can, the Rockets have a solid triple threat of Yao, TMac and Artest

I thought Greene went about 10 picks l8r then he should have and that the Rockets made a great pick, but this is a great trade for Houston. They really didnt lose to much value and Artest has a very cap friendly deal, but the best thing about this trade is that T-Mac is gonna miss 20-30 games a year and now it seems Yao is also. With Artest it gives them a player that can reduce other peoples minutes and keep hthe 2 stars fresh.

When I saw the names Ming, McGrady, and Artest together, my first thought was that each of them is probably good for about 60 games a year. If they can all stay healthy (through limited minutes or otherwise), that's a nice set of complimentary players. If they can't, maybe they can build a frankenstein all-star from the good body parts.

2nd best defense in the league last year which already has 1 of the best wing defenders in Shane Battier. They are reporting that Rockets are flirting with an idea at playing Artest at 4, hmm mixed feelings about this...
He does make them alot better offensively and adds another outside threat to a group taht has T-Mac, Alston, Battier and Brent Barry...

Rockets will be an instant championship contender with Artest. All they need to do is stay healthy.

Given the frailty of T-Mac and Yao, i won't anoint them championship material just yet. I will say adding Artest should finally get T-Mac through a playoff round.
