The UM opened August 17th, 2007 as a handpicked 100 members who were asked to join for their smarts and community involvement. But the word got out that the UM neighborhood is not just your average start up community! .... Members begun jumping in from word of mouth .. and now the UM stands at 300+ members and over 30,000 posts and growing!
The site has it's very own Texas Holdem table which has members playing against each other 24/7! .. MLB Gameday audio only for the community. A live chat room, fantasy leagues with the winner landing up to 100 dollars in prizes. We also have our own FREE Baseball draft kit for our UM members, as well as an upcomming Football draft kit. We run our own monthly MILB prospect list. But most importantly .. The UM has grown into a community of sports friends. So jump in and, join the UM today! |

The UM Neighborhood is adding a huge piece to the virtual puzzle today, as we welcome in our very OWN Texas holdem table!
Located in the portal page, directly below our Live chat application. You will have to register your name with the table, the Admin (Myself) will approve your name … (So once you register, send me a note that you did so i can approve it) and walla! that’s it! You receive 1000 dollars in chips, which can be refilled when you hit 0. (hopefully you good holdem players never have to refill)
I have the capability to create a tournament table, once I figure out all the intricate settings… for now it’s a 20/NL table with 5 seats.
This opens up allot of new portal spectaculars …. Holdem tourmanets, poker nights, top 10 money winners, etc …. the table keeps your money situations .. So we can really have some fun with this.
In the upcoming days I will assign a UM-Holdem moderator who will be in charge of running events and other fiascos …
Any feedback or idea’s that we can do with this, are welcome!

Gentleman ... while i continue to work on the coding for the migration ..i have added our holdem table back to the site!

Gentleman, I am sorry to announce that with the ad's page gone, the site has no way to pay for itself. I have no issues paying for the chatroom and the migration costs for the new server/url... but as of now, I am going to suspend the monthly subscription for the holdem table until the site finds a way to pay for itself ... In the future the table wil be back as we figure out a way to bring together a bankroll for fun activities and upgrades ... But I dont want to continue to commit to 25 dollars per month for the table ...
We will have the table until Feb 1st. Sorry boys ..

Its okay, not a big deal. $25 is way too much money considering you can just go play on all the empty tables on either Poker Stars or Party Poker.

Gentleman, With the summer solstice upon us ... The UM has decided for the summer, to add back our UM Poker Table! .... Increased membership at the UM has increased the numbers of late night schmucks on the site! ... With our poker table, we may be looking at some great late night tourneys!
It will be located in Portal Park and I will be adding this within the week.

Gentleman, We now have Texas holdem back for the summer!
The tables are not free which is why this is not a year round feature for the UM, but it's too good of an application not to have here sometimes! .. So commish and I will make the table an annual summer treat!
For those who have not played our UM Holdem. It is located in the Portal section of our site, right below our live chat room.
You will need to create a screen name for it, (use your UM name) .. You start off at 1,000 dollars, but If you run out of money, all you have to do is refill your anti.
Ohh .. don't mind the dealer, he's a bit abrasive, but he's part of the UM, so please try and embrace him.
I have added to bots, so a game will be going 24 hours a day!, the table holds 5 players, and at night, their are usualy some good games going! ... have fun guys, I hope to see you all at the tables as I win your fookin money!

Good Stuff Biz!
Looks like our old chip counts are still intact as well - So Grid is still the man to beat,,,
Perhaps a BOB entry for the schmuck with the most chips at some point,,,?
Personally, I think this should be a winter time treat, so poor fools like me who live in Maine and stay buried in snow all winter have another mindless task during the winter months!
But thats just selfish:)
