He's cleared the waivers (no surprised here - he had 4.15 mill price tag for next season). Bruins will be buying him out and saving themselves approximately $2.7 million against the cap.

No doubt a contender will look to snatch him up for cheap. Devils would be silly to overlook him. He would fit in well in Montreal...

The Pens are rumored to be offering a package of players and picks to the Wild for Gaborik.

Move would make sense for the Wild, who desperately could use a more balanced attack and now that Demitra has left are even shorter on scorers.

What would the Pens offer though for a guy as good as Gaborik? .. Staal?

Could very well be someone the Wild would insist on getting for Gaborik.Conor James and Dustin Jeffrey are a couple of decent prospects as well who will find making the Wild's roster easier than the Penguins at this point.

Tyler Kennedy and Luca Caputi are possibilities as well. Kennedy is ready and will have an easier time making Wild's squad that Pens' too (isnt guaranteed a spot this year but should make it). Caputi is at least a year away though but has tons of talent - he's a guy to watch. Assuming Goligoski is off limits and cant blame them - heir apparent to Sergei Gonchar...

Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Ryan Whitney will be out three to five months following surgery to correct a chronic problem with his left foot.

That's big blow for Pens.

Do not buy into the New York Post story regarding Sundin and the Rangers.Sundin's agent J.P. Barry denies he has spoken with the Rangers any more than the 5 other teams interested in his services.

I would expect a decision by the end of this week however from Sundin, regards to next season and if he will play or retire.

IMO its a just a metter will he or wont he play. If he does he's off to Montreal. Their offer is on par with Vancouver's so it makes sense on all fronts.
