1. Dallas Cowboys Projected Record 14-2

Off season acquisitions addressed the question marks on defense. It won't be as easy to get a big play against the Cowboys this year. The offense is in excellent shape and the coaches feel good about the young talent at backup RB and 3rd WR.Romo will always have Witten as a safety valve, he should top 100 receptions. The schedule is very favorable as well.

2. NY Giants Projected Record 10-6

Almost the same gang that won the Super Bowl.Should get good production from the RB committee. If Eli continues to be better at protecting the ball, they could see themselves back to playing deep in the playoffs. Will have to deal with being the defending champions, and a final month of the season which sees them having to go to Dallas and Minnesota.

3. Philadelphia Eagles Projected Record 7-9

Didn't address the concerns of McNabb on offense. The Defense will be back to blitzing more with the addition of Samuel from the Patriots.Defenses are focused on containing Westbrook, who realistically needs a smaller workload. This team won't go anywhere until they have WR's and TE's that can get the job done.

4.Washington Redskins Projected Record 6-10

The questions here are mostly on defense. Campbell has to improve his game and should do that under the tutelage of new head coach Jim Zorn.Still for this season they will be the weak sisters of the NFL's most successful division.

Quote:
The NFC East is a division of the National Football League's National Football Conference. It currently has four members: the Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles, and Washington Redskins.

The division was formed in 1967 as the National Football League Capitol Division, keeping with the theme of having all of the league's divisions starting with the letter "C." The division was so named because it was centered around the capital of the United States, Washington, DC. In 1967 and 1969 the teams in the NFL Capitol Division were Dallas, Philadelphia, Washington and the expansion New Orleans Saints. The New York Giants replaced the Saints in 1968; the Giants took the place of the Saints permanently with the AFL-NFL merger in 1970, which led to the division's current name. With the merger, it also added the St. Louis Cardinals. Despite relocating to Arizona in 1988, the Cardinals continued to play in the NFC East until the 2002 re-alignment when they were moved to the NFC West. However, at the request of the Cardinals, the Cowboys and Cardinals continue to face each other on an annual basis in the preseason. The agreement was not honored in 2007 for undisclosed reasons.[citation needed]

Although the St. Louis Rams are geographically farther east than Dallas, the Cowboys remained in the NFC East and the Rams stayed in the NFC West due to long-standing rivalries: the Cowboys with all three other teams in the East, and the Rams with the San Francisco 49ers in the West.

NFC East teams have a combined 19 Super Bowl appearances and eleven wins, the highest marks of any division in the NFL. Besides Philadelphia, each NFC East 4 teams has won at least 3 NFL championships. Given the division member's histories and intense rivalries, many sports analysts and fans regard the NFC East as the toughest division in the NFL. One possible peak of glory for the division came in the early 1990's, when the division claimed four consecutive Super Bowl champions, as the Cowboys won two and the Giants and Redskins took one each.

If Campbell gets hurt the Redskins are gonna win the division and eventually the Super Bowl.

Colt Brennan is the greatest of all time.

And I forgot to mention... if he stays healthy the Skins are gonna win the SB for the next 7 straight years (dynasty???) and he's break all of Brett Favre's records by the 4th year. Next year he'll break the single season TD record by throwing for 97 TDs, all to Chris Cooley.

This is absolutely the worst division in football in terms of talking about football.

Here is why.

All the fans are completely delusional. Completely.

Philly, complete psychopaths.

Skins, think they have the SB locked up every year even if they are a 3-13 team

Cowboys, America's team and more coverage than they deserve in good or bad times.

Giants, other than just winning the SB, they are in the media capital. Constant talk about the team being better than it is.

All in all, here is how it plays out.

All four teams have a great defense and that is what wins you championships. In terms of offense, I rank them like this.

Cowboys
Eagles/Giants
Skins

Each team, much like the rest of the league, is not more than an injury away from a 500 season.

Eagles, McNabb or Westbrook kills them.

Cowboys- TO or Romo kills them.

Giants- Burress makes the offense stop.

Skins- Portis makes the offense stop.

When it all plays out, and looking at paper I rate like like so.

Boys
Birds
Giants
Skins

Throw in a coup in Dallas and they drop to the bottom.

A few early losses will cripple the Birds.

The Giants also have the ability to implode early.

Skins need mediocrity to stick around for a WC slot.

Great division, should be some good football.

I don't know that Skins fans are delusional, I just think they've grown accustomed to being a punchline ever since the hogettes became celebrities outside of DC. Hence superpoon being a jackass about Colt Brennan, it's his own personal punchline to detract attention from how god awful his team really is.

The Giants own the East, but like hesssaun said pretty much any one of these teams in one injury from the cellar.

Haha, absolutely correct, the Skins suck.

Although... if they had Timmy Chang instead...

Giants have an easy schedule and they will have it easy to the stretch when they play in division games. They should win the division.

Here's the thing about the Giants though. They suck. Listen I realize they won the SB and that is more than the Eagles ever have. So if you ask me if I have a ring, my answer is your asshole is the ring that I have.

Now, let's get by the ring retort. Ok, we moved on. All I am saying is that they played the absolute best football last year than any other team in the league. All of it came together and they made an impressive defensive run and played mistake free football. That's not happening again and I am by no means saying the Eagles will do that.

I am just saying that missing Strahan and Eli as the QB hurts. Little to no consistency with Eli and that pass rush will lack. Not to say they can't pick it up as he was aging, but when you lose a leader like that it hurts.

I would badmouth the Giants but they answered my prayers last season and have forever earned a place in my heart.

I always root against everything from Texas. The Cowgirls are no different.

The only NFC team I hate more is the Redskins.

Have no strong feelings for or against the Eagles. Although I really like that Marky-Mark movie...

Giants playoff run was a perfect example of teams getting hot at the right time of the year. Anything can happen but Giants will have hard time winning the division.

Cowboys - 13-3
Giants - 10-6
Washington - 8-8
Philly - 6-10
