I would say Josh Childress is the best of the guys that left, and depending on how he does, and how he likes it, he could open the flood gates for players leaving the NBA for European leagues.

Add Gordon Giricek to that list (Fenerbahce in Turkey).

Celtics signed Darius Miles to a contract. Not a bad move.

In a recent blog entry about his knee surgery, Gilbert Arenas wrote, "They said anywhere from mid-December to January 1, I’ll be back by then at 100 percent." He admitted that "time frames are dicey", and proclamations of 100% health are somewhat absurd considering how prolonged this injury has been. Follow the link below for the entire entry.

New York Knicks are expected to waive Stephon Marbury by the end of the week. Miami Heat are interested in bringing him in. Heat currently have 3 PGs on their roster - Mario Chalmers, Marcus Banks and Chris Quinn. Chalmers is a rookie and Banks and Quinn are nothing but back ups.

"Most observers now consider [Derrick] Rose a lock to be a starter on opening night."

Nothing is written in stone, but it looks like the Bulls are eager to see what their number-one draft pick can do. "Whoever deserves to start will start," said Rose. The Bulls backcourt is still murky from a fantasy standpoint, but Kirk Hinrich would take a hit if Rose is indeed the starter on opening day.

Wizards center Brendan Haywood has a torn ligament in his right (shooting) wrist that will require surgery and sideline him for four-to-six months.

Martell Webster has decided to have surgery on his injured left foot which will sideline him for eight to 10 weeks.

Good news for Travis Outlaw and his owners...

They were hopeful Haywood would be back late February / early March but looks like he's done for the season.

Add Jason Hart

Quote:
Sources told the Boston Globe on Sunday that Baron Davis could miss 4-6 weeks due to a ring-finger injury that may require surgery, although his official diagnosis won't be available until after he meets with a hand specialist on Monday. With that news were dropping him down in our cheat sheets. With Baron and Deron Williams banged up, guys like Steve Nash, Jose Calderon, Jason Kidd and Andre Miller probably have even more value than they previously did. Jason Hart will likely be the opening night starter at point guard for the Clippers, as we fully expect Davis to be sidelined indefinitely

Quote:
Larry Hughes suffered a dislocated right shoulder after colliding with Timberwolves swingman Mike Miller late in the third quarter of Wednesday's game. Hughes, who had started and scored 21 points to that point, crumpled to the ground after chasing a loose ball and stayed down for several minutes. Hughes' shoulder has been popped back into place and there's no timetable for his return.

Ehh, season openers kinda crept up this year and caught me by surprise.

Oden injured, sprained right foot. This guy can't stay healthy.
