Former Longview Lobo baseball standout Chris Davis was called up from the Texas Rangers' Triple A affiliate in Oklahoma City Wednesday and will be in uniform tonight when the Rangers take on the Houston Astros at Houston's Minute Maid Park.
Last 162 games in AA and AAA: .330BA 52HR, and 164 RBI, 43 doubles.
Chris Shelton and Frank Cattalanato should pose no playing time threat for Davis at 1st base, so it should be interesting to see what this kid will do!

Me too! I have him in almost every prospect league I am in. This is where the UM's gameday Audio comes in handy. To listen in on his AB's tonight!

Projections? How much fantasy value would you give him?
Playing in this year's Rangers lineup... he could be very significant. R, RBI, and lineup protection will not be hard for him to come by...

I think it's high time we had another player go deep in his first MLB at bat so I'll go out on a limb and make that prediction,,,
I think he could have some initial value, but over the course of the season I would put him at risk of getting shuttled back and forth,,,
I'll wager - 12 HR's, 43 RBI's and a .276 BA

Bummer- Davis didn't get a starting nod tonight-
But hey- Catalanatto, Ramirez, and Duran are in the lineup to put the fear of good into Houston,,,
So far, good ole Wandy "the wonder" Rodriguez is proving semi-dominant in his home park , once again.
Perhaps a pinch homer in the 8th?
